I specialize in adjustment and relationship issues including couples and family, premarital counseling, infidelity or divorce, as well as self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. My treatment approach is based primarily on cognitive-behavioral therapy. This includes challenging expectations and self-talk and investigating patterns to help you better understand yourself, determine your goals, and help to achieve them. I focus on educating the client, utilizing their strengths and providing techniques to overcome existing conflicts. My goal is not to diagnose you but to improve your life and your relationships while developing skills to manage any future concerns independently. I graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Psychology and with highest honors from Oakland University with a MA in Counseling. I have a background in clinical research which assists me in understanding and teaching specific evidence-based techniques to my clients.
