Life In Recovery Begins at Sanford House Sanford House is a private residential and outpatient treatment center for women. Located in Heritage Hill District of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Sanford House is a restored historic home that provides a boutique setting for women suffering from a substance use disorders. Traditional therapies are complemented by mindfulness-based stress reduction, creative education and therapeutic recreation including yoga, reiki, and acupuncture. Empowering women to know the beauty, richness, and vibrancy of life in recovery is what Sanford House is about. Residential Treatment Sanford House residential treatment is a private 10-resident treatment center designed to help women find new strength from within and begin to heal the mind and body. Our comprehensive minimum 30 day program begins with an assessment by an experienced clinician who understands that each woman's experience with chemical dependency is unique. Sanford House uses a "whole body" treatment technique that provides tools, practices and support needed to bring balance and joy to life, thereby creating the foundation for a fulfilling life in recovery. Our secure surroundings allow women to feel safe sharing their history in both group and individual setting. When it comes to substance use disorders, family members often require special attention. Sanford House counselors and medical professionals offer support and education for families so they understand their role in recovery. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Held in our onsite Carriage House, IOP is a primary treatment option that allows for convenience and flexibility in the continuation of everyday activities. Sanford House's IOP schedule is tailored to accommodate the scheduling needs of our clients. The curriculum is designed for women who enter IOP directly as well as those transitioning from a residential setting and desired continued support. If you are facing legal issues our counselors are available to help you get started. IOP participants have the opportunity to implement new skills and recovery knowledge in their home environment while processing their experience in a safe and supportive group setting.
