I have over 25 year of experience helping people overcome the obstacles that prevent them from living their lives fully. People usually come to me with some symptom they wish to overcome. This is very important, overcoming anxiety or depression or some unhealthy compulsion is essential to growth. It is my experience however that overcoming symptoms will only work if my clients and I work to help them discover what it is in life they really want. Life is too short and too precious to waste trapped in destructive beliefs about ourselves. To live healthy is to Thrive. I use a psychodynamic approach. This approach respects the impact of our childhood on our adult functioning. When we are able to understand our childhood and the defenses that we used to cope with the things that overwhelmed us as children, we become free to choose how we live our lives. I also have great respect for the Existential tradition which respects each individual's journey through life as well as the common dilemmas we all face such as finding meaning and purpose in our lives, creating relationship with others and dealing with grief and death.
