Valerie Luxon, PsyD is a graduate of Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Luxon is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has worked with children, adolescents, adults and families since 2003. She previously worked for Alexian Brothers Health System in Chicago. She is Inner Door Center's Clinical Program Director. Dr. Luxon specializes in individuals with eating disorders and those struggling with self-injury.She has extensive experience working with anxiety and mood disorders (i.e., depression, bipolar disorder), autism spectrum disorders, disruptive/defiant behaviors, parenting concerns, and family conflict. Her work with individuals with self-destructive behaviors, such as eating disorders and non-suicidal self-injury, include an emphasis on emotion regulation, body image disturbance, past trauma/abuse and relationship issues. In her work with children and adolescents, Dr. Luxon encourages a collaborative approach including the individual, parents/guardians, teachers and other professionals.
