In her 10th year as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Mary Jane specializes in helping women ages 18 and older work toward their goals for personal growth and healing. Whether working through issues related to the past, resolving present concerns or establishing future goals, Mary Jane is passionate about helping people gain greater self-awareness and develop new skills in order to deal more effectively with their real-life situations. Mary Jane has experience helping people address & resolve issues related to anxiety, depression, grief & loss, trauma, relationship & family concerns and career development. She is trained and experienced in using a variety of helping approaches including cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems therapy and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and offers faith-based and expressive art interventions. The approach she uses depends on each client's unique style, needs and preferences. Mary Jane received a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2000 from the University of Northern Iowa. As a National Certified Counselor she actively pursues professional learning opportunities and supervision to sustain her ongoing development as a therapist.
