I am a Clinical Social Worker and Art Psychotherapist. I provide traditional talk therapy and non-traditional therapies such as art therapy and sand tray therapy for individuals, couples, children and groups. Non-traditional therapies provide opportunities to explore thoughts and feelings in ways that are less threatening than a direct discussion and are helpful in communicating thoughts/emotions that are difficult to describe with words. I incorporate guided imagery, CBT, mindfulness techniques, journaling/creative writing, and other eclectic therapeutic approaches as needed, tailoring my therapeutic plan to individual needs, preferences and comfort levels. I believe clients are the experts of their life experiences and they are the ones that direct their path to recovery. I use my education, therapeutic experience, and personal insights, gained from my own life struggles, to empower you to work through difficult times as they occur in your lifetime. Areas of service include: abuse/neglect, domestic violence, trauma/Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), women's issues, grief and loss, LGBTQ issues, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, major life transitions (such as aging, divorce, job loss, major medical/physical changes, etc.), spirituality, self esteem, and general overall stress reduction.
