My goal is to provide an atmosphere of caring, safety, and trust for people to explore the changes they wish to see in their own lives and relationships. I work with individuals and families struggling with difficult issues such as relationship problems, depression, grief, anxiety, and issues related to trauma. I believe that many times what people bring to therapy naturally overflows from past hurts and experiences. I love working with people to explore and work to heal core issues. I work to see the whole person: emotional, relational, spiritual, and physical. I have specialized training with children and adolescents, as well as working with adults. Counseling approaches include trauma sensitive cognitive behavioral therapy and expressive arts therapies. I provide classes for parents going through divorce with the aim of helping them co-parent more effectively, focusing on the needs of their children. A significant portion of my work is with families who have adopted children or children who've experienced trauma, loss, neglect or abuse during their development. I provide in-depth training on grief and loss, and for parents of children with histories of trauma, neglect, or abuse.
