I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15 years experience in providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable setting where individuals can explore what has brought them into therapy, find meaning in their experience, and develop or enhance coping strategies. I have a background in Nursing which has provided me with a long-standing interest in and experience with those who struggle with medical and developmental issues and their emotional impact. Treatment with adults and children is strengths-based with a cognitive-behavioral approach. Over the past 15 years I have had specialized training and experience with individuals who experience intense emotions which impact their life goals and relationships. DBT strategies guide my practice when working with individuals who are subject to this intensity. Children in treatment have access to creative ways (as games, stories and art) to express emotion. Parents are central to this process and are part of each session. I am fluent in Spanish and enjoy using it in the clinical setting.
