I've found people do the best they can with what they've got. Coming to therapy takes courage to find a new way of being. While figuring out what is working well, and where we need to make adjustments, we will have fun, too. Rather than simply listening to you, or asking how you feel, I tend toward questions about what you thought, and what you did. Then, we will make plans for changing thoughts and behaviors that aren't helping. In that process you will feel better about who you are and the choices you make. I utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques in therapy. CBT has been found to be especially helpful in treatment of depression, anxiety and addiction. I specialize in working with adults, and provide individual therapy at Omega Health. At MidValley Healthcare, I also provide group therapy for these issues. Omega Health also offers psychiatric medication management, if that is something we determine is warranted. My clients have appreciated being able to attend therapy and see someone about medication in the same location, often the same day. I've found this collaborative approach to be most helpful.
