I work best with families experiencing challenges with adolescents who feel under pressure by multiple issues. Often the solution is to shift subtle patterns of relating to make significant impacts for the whole family. I notice when people find the courage to talk about their concerns they discover more powerful, less obvious needs to mend. I focus my attention on those patterns to help the family and individuals find their strength and balance again. Sometimes the balance is upset by an underlying issue of trauma and I use EMDR to effectively treat both adolescents and adults. Working with the age span of families demands I am able to assist the playful hearts of youth and the powerful commitments of adults and parents. Over the last 15 years, my interests have taken me into Wilderness Therapy, In-home settings, schools, and agencies spanning from substance abuse, sexual assault, and school based interventions. Working with families, I developed a strong grasp of adolescent and adult needs including couples strengthening. I use structural, humanistic, and play therapy interventions. For specific cases, I utilize mindfulness-based CBT, EMDR and hypnosis interventions with anxieties, depression and PTSD related symptoms. CURRENT STATUS: Accepting new clients.
