As a therapist, I work heavily on developing trust and comfort in the environment with clients before any further therapeutic steps take place, knowing that a healthy relationship is the foundation on which the therapeutic process begins. You can expect from the time you walk in the office to be addressed in a respectful and calming manner, aimed at removing any anxiety that exists in the room and focused on developing a partnership in treatment. I am a general practitioner with experience and success in treating disorders ranging from anxiety, mood, psychosis, trauma, personality, and anger/conflict resolution issues. Although I serve a broad scope of clients, I specialize in working with at-risk youth (ages 12 and over) and their families, trauma/bereavement issues, school related issues (academic or behavioral), and individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities and their families. In therapy, clients and potential clients can expect a very practical approach to their presented issues and concerns; beginning with being heard, being validated, and being given proactive feedback which uses their defined strengths and abilities to overcome their obstacles.
