I became a counselor because I am passionate about helping people connect with the best part of themselves. I believe everyone holds within them the answers to their own life problems but too often we allow ourselves to get in the way of our own success. People flourish in environments where their achievements are recognized, appreciated, and praised but seldom do we receive any of this in the harsh worlds we create for ourselves so we go to outside sources such as drugs/alcohol, excessive sex/spending, or obsessive eating habits in an attempt to find peace but peace is not there. In counseling we explore what is missing from your life that led to your unhealthy behaviors and we work together to formulate ways in which to stimulate growth and move you toward a fulfilled life. We work together to move you past the anxiety, depression, fear, and substance abuse that has kept you trapped. I counsel from a person centered approach - I work to find you where you are to activate thinking and behaviors in you which allows you to move toward becoming the person you aspire to be, the hero you admire. Step out of shame and blame that traps you and step into peaceful serenity that awaits.
