Counseling & Social Services JFCS's experienced and compassionate team has a long history of serving people at very difficult times in their lives, often when they have no where else to turn. JFCS's 25+ therapists are well trained, accessible, and offer a broad range of modalities that fit a wide variety of patient needs. Clients come from all faiths, age groups and economic backgrounds, and for 72 years, JFCS's counseling and social services programs have helped them negotiate life's tough challenges, including depression, family conflict, and trauma. Trauma Services We serve people of all ages who have experienced trauma. Programs include counseling for adults who have experienced domestic violence, workers who have lived through on-the-job trauma, and neglected children and teens from abusive homes and those who have experienced school or gang-related violence. Through supportive relationships with therapists and the right combination of individual, family and group support, clients develop positive coping skills, and the ability to trust and feel safe. Older Adult Services The JFCS therapy team includes specialists in counseling for older adults, who help clients navigate the normal challenges of aging. This includes retirement, grief and loss, health transitions, isolation, depression, anxiety, and other life changes.
