In my work with individuals, couples and groups, I bring a belief that we each have the power to make our lives healthier, more joyful, and more productive. Honoring the mind/body connection, I will work with you to help you to build on what you already know and what you are already doing that is working for you. My goal is to create a healing relationship with you so that you can move forward in your life in ways that have meaning for you - to help you to do more than "survive", but to THRIVE. My specialty in the area of sexual assault and abuse includes having volunteered on a Crisis Hotline, facilitated Incest and Rape Survivors Support Groups and Retreats, provided trainings at a maximum security prison for male sex offenders, and having worked full time as a Rape Crisis Counselor at the YWCA. Being Gestalt trained, I put a special emphasis on what is happening "right here/right now" in our therapeutic relationship; in addition to exploring your current concerns and historical background. My goal is to assist you to heal, and my style is friendly, respectful, supportive and compassionate.
