I am dedicated to the treatment of eating disorders. I am impressed with the courage of those individuals who want recovery from anorexia nervosa, bulimia, compulsive over eating, and night eating syndrome. Many factors contribute to recovery including skills to cope with hurtful family situations , sexual abuse, intense loneliness , social media and peer pressure. It is also my hope that individuals who are considering bariatric surgery engage in pre surgery psychotherapy specifically to enhance their success after surgery. My training includes EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, grief therapy, family therapy with teens and adults. I believe strongly in the power of the individual to make changes in order to live a life that can be more satisfying. I have supervised programs for inpatient and intensive outpatient programs. A colleague and I brought Memphis the Eating Disorder Coalition of Tennessee. Some participants have gone on to provide eating disorder education in schools and create free support groups
