People often ask me why I pursued counseling as a career. I can't think of any better way to earn a living than helping people in need. We all go through periods in our lives where we feel unable to cope or handle things. Whether it's a bad break up that sends us over the edge, our expectations of what life is "supposed to be like" versus our reality, or maybe every day stressors like finances, health, etc, I want to be there to help you through this. My specializations include working with children and adolescents, family counseling, mood disorders, substance abuse, and focusing on multicultural or systemic issues. In addition, I am currently training in the area of eating disorders. I also have Saturday appointments available. I am moderately fluent in Vietnamese and in the process of learning Spanish. I work primarily from a family systems approach, so be prepared to join in most of our sessions for your child or explore some of the family patterns you learned growing up for yourself.
