It takes courage for a person to seek help. I treat each individual with the respect and dignity they deserve. I am highly trained to assess, diagnose and treat a variety of issues, (i.e., substance abuse, anxiety). I am a certified EMDR therapist, equipped to deal with phobias and traumatic events. My style is empathic to the client but direct. I am experienced in handling academic, behavioral and adolescent issues, family conflict and divorce issues. Because I strive at giving my clients the best clinical care, at the present time, I am accepting clients on an individual basis. As a counselor for the school system for more than 12 years, I have dealt with a variety of issues, settings and family dynamics. I am knowledgeable about addictions and how to treat them (i.e, making appropriate referrals, programs). My main goal is to help individuals gain a sense of control over their lives. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) is an effective and powerful form of therapy that I use to treat PTSD, traumatic memories and high anxiety.
