Hi there! "You can discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of conversation"- Plato. I am a Registered Play Therapist and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with experience working with children ages 3-12 with Autism, Asperger's, Anxiety, ADHD, Abuse, Adjustment Disorder, Depression, Grief, Trauma, Social Skills, Coping Skills, Sibling Conflict, and Family Interactions. I have worked in elementary/ middle schools, daycares, preschools, camps, clinics, hospitals and theater programs. I integrate a variety of expressive techniques such as- art, dance, music, sandtray, drama, dress-up/pretend play, puppets, board and card games- as well as behavior modification charts. I am trained as a Child Life Specialist, working with children in medical settings to learn about procedures, provide distraction, and recreation activities. I am currently applying for training leading to certification in Trauma Studies through the Trauma Institute as well as Expressive Arts Group Facilitator at Salve Regina.
