Believing the real challenge in life is to see an opportunity for change in the face of trajedy, my private practice, transitions llc, helps clients move from a place of emotional pain toward a life of meaning and stability. I believe it is a normal response to avoid or freeze when your emotions are highly charged in response to trauma, yet the risk is high. You can become depressed, highly anxious, abuse substances, and generally lose yourself. I support your courage to address your problems while supporting your inner stengths and abilities. We work together and go to any lengths. My interest and specialty is in individual and family therapy for adults who have experienced interpersonal trauma in the past. My post masters training is in trauma, dissociation and identity issues. This training lead me to learn the treatment of alcoholism and substance abuse co-occurring with a psychiatric disorder. I like to spend time with my clients if they need it. My office environment is casual yet professional. An air of positive energy in this environment is present and you are just not another case number to me. All you need is open-mindedness, willingness and commitment.
