Welcome! Choosing a therapist is a big decision, and I appreciate being considered! While my background and training have focused strongly on child, adolescent and family therapy, I also work with individual women and couples. I sometimes say that I use a "family doc" model of psychotherapy. That is, I might see an anxious child individually and then, because kids' issues are so intertwined with their families will work with the whole family for a period of time. Or I might spend some sessions with an individual woman, who would then like to bring her partner for couples therapy. My education includes a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology with specialized training in parent-child relationships ("attachment") and helping people to recover from trauma. I am the therapist on the Waterville Eating Disorders Team, part of a statewide network. Meditation and mindfulness are underpinnings of my work. My years of experience have taught me that while issues may be serious, a relaxed, welcoming, attentive atmosphere allows the work to progress within a framework that is warm, supportive and even fun. I am part of the Northern Light Family Center, a collaborative group practice in Waterville.
