As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner I come from a discipline of wellness and prevention. Nursing concentrates on how the human responds to the environment and disease. It is my goal to help the client understand their own feelings and behavior and make choices for themselves and their families that improve their circumstances. Education in neuroscience is part of the process of treatment. Understanding how infant's brains develop, respond to nurture as well as abuse and neglect, shed insight into child and adult behaviors as well as parenting styles. Our office space is designed to encourage play therapy for both children and families. I treat children with behavior problems as young as 18 months old and incorporate family dynamics into the result. We see very young children who have been traumatized or diagnosed with attachment disorder or autism. I believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of Creator God and will pray for our patients. We will not proselytize or attempt to convert a client but will discuss spiritual matters from a Biblical perspective.
