For Inpatient and Residential Treatment A starting place. Concrete information and a plan of action. Somewhere you can get all of the information you need to make an informed decision about your care. Allison Hilborn-Tatro founded and operates Treatment Consultation Services, to bridge the gap between people looking for treatment and the best treatment for their needs. There are over 100,000 treatment programs just in this country; picking the one that is going to work specifically for you, that you can afford, and that has a solid reputation, is a huge gamble without an unbiased, outside third party, clinically trained in assessment and program placement. When your loved one is hurting, your life is on hold until they get better, and we are the first step in getting into the best treatment program for you or your loved one's needs. We work to ensure that you are well informed about treatment options and prognosis, we create an immediate treatment plan, and help motivate your loved one to make a change. Making a change Making a change is terrifying; human beings are creatures of habit. We seek out certainty and predictability and for someone with substance abuse or addiction, that natural way of being can be life-threatening. We resist change with all of our being! There are many obstacles and the road can be long and paved with difficulty. Most likely, you feel some form of panic that you will not be able to get yourself or your loved one out of this mess. Here is something we tell everyone in our placement service: it is ok to be uncertain. Uncertainty is at the heart of change. For anyone entering treatment I ask them to trust the process. Trust that the program has your best interest in mind, that your psyche will heal itself if you get out of its way, and that your true self is still in there, ready to be known by you and everyone who loves you. How the placement service works Each case is different, and we follow a similar structure for each client/family: #1- Initial Contact: This is the phone call to us to discuss what is going on and set up a face to face consultation. The phone consult is free. #2- First Meeting: Here we meet with whomever we have mutually decided is appropriate for this information gathering session. #3- Plan Formulation: We go back to our work and develop a plan. This may include further assessments, family sessions, individual sessions, and ultimately a recommendation for treatment is made. #4- Treatment Planning: Together again, we meet to discuss our treatment plan, the resources we believe will be most useful to you, and help you attain all that you need in order to get those resources. When appropriate, we help you understand your insurance benefits or direct you to someone who can do that. We want to ensure everyone involved understands all levels of the process of residential, inpatient, or intensive outpatient treatment as well expectations and how best to be prepared for the change.
