Treatment areas include: self-injury, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, stress management, life transitions, parenting issues, and divorce recovery. Shannon believes the therapeutic relationship is a critical component of client success. Therefore, she approaches each client with empathy, respect, and congruency. She uses a variety of techniques derived from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person Centered Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Through the therapeutic process, Shannon assists clients with converting negative, destructive, or counterproductive thought processes and behaviors into more positive and beneficial ones. She also works with clients on developing healthier coping skills that maybe used across a spectrum of issues. Shannon is a nationally certified, Licensed Associate Counselor in the State of Georgia who graduated from a CACREP accredited graduate program. She is a member of the American Counselors Association and was inducted into Chi Sigma Iota, an international academic and professional honor society for counselors. Shannon provides counseling for children, adolescents, and adults suffering from a variety of emotional difficulties and/or issues.
