Our Treatment Center The Emily Program - Cleveland is an outpatient treatment center that provides clinically proven treatment for people suffering from an eating disorder. We treat individuals focusing on both the illness and the person, utilizing behavioral therapies, psychiatric treatment, nutritional support, individual and family therapy. Eating disorders are complex and often misunderstood diseases. Although eating disorders include extreme emotions, attitudes, and behaviors surrounding weight and food issues, they are not just about food. Eating disorders are serious emotional and physical illnesses that can strike at any age. Our Treatment Philosophy The Emily Program - Cleveland works with evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Maudsley Approach for family-based therapy. These treatment methods have the strongest evidence to end the unique suffering caused by an eating disorder. At The Emily Program - Cleveland, we understand that eating disorders are biological illnesses triggered by environmental factors. We treat the physical, behavioral, emotional and cognitive aspects of the illness so that suffering can be resolved. We understand the unique differences among adults, adolescents and children suffering from eating disorders and our programs are individually tailored to the specific ages and needs of our patients. Our Programs Day Treatment Program (DTP): Our most intensive therapy. Clients in this program meet multiple days per week, up to six hours per day. During the Day Treatment Program, clients attend DBT and CBT skills groups, art therapy, mindful movement/yoga, and goal setting groups. Clients eat meals and/or snacks in a supportive group environment. Clients are encouraged to include family members, spouses, or other significant individuals in their treatment program. Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): This program consists of three hours of daily group treatment three to five days per week. IOP groups include: DBT and CBT skills groups, goal setting and therapeutic meals. Family-Based Treatment (Maudsley Approach): In its purest form, the Maudsley Approach of treating an eating disorder empowers parents as the leaders of the treatment team for their child's eating disorder and supports the family and the patient in their journey to recovery. Maudsely may be used by itself, or in combination with other individual, group or couples treatments. Binge Eating Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program (BED IOP): BED IOP assists with unique challenges of those who struggle with BED. Meeting three days per week, this program includes therapeutic meals, group, and individual therapy.
