Amy Boyers
Psychologist, PhD
South Miami, Florida 33143

I provide individual and group psychotherapy for clients ages 15+ struggling with a number of issues including: eating disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse, and life transitions. My training is in both cognitive-behavioral therapy and in medical psychology. Although my primary orientation to therapy is cognitive-behavioral, I integrate a variety of theoretical perspectives into my work and tailor treatment to meet the needs of the individual. In addition, I currently offer a psychotherapy groups for parents of children with serious mental illness such as eating disorders, addiction, and Borderline Personality disorder. I currently have space in my parents' group and I am currently accepting new clients to create an Advanced Recovery Group for eating disorders. For families that have an adolescent with anorexia, I do offer Family Based Treatment. This approach may allow families to refeed and treat the eating disorder at home, rather than send their child to a treatment center. I am also trained in Somatic Experiencing for trauma resolution.
