My first priority is bringing fast relief from your current symptoms of anxiety and depression, before moving on to deeper issues such as childhood memories and experiences. My style is direct, active, and caring, focused on mutually agreed upon goals. I believe that it is important to work emphasizing strengths as well as dealing with problems. I have seen that working within a collaborative partnership with each person yields the best outcomes within the shortest amount of time. Your family is also important in understanding, supporting and helping you. Free initial consultation can be arranged by telephone contact. I believe psychotherapy must create an environment of safety, trust, and hopefulness for people in order for it to work effectively. I like to set up a caring environment that enables people to integrate their minds, bodies, thoughts, feelings, experiences, and behaviors. I always appreciate direct feedback as we progress. From a psychodynamic background, I integrate mind and body through three types of therapy in which I have trained: Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (http://www.iedta.net), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (http://www.aedpinstitute.com) and Somatic Experiencing (traumanhealing.com). People come before technique. Collaboration is most important.
