I approach each person with compassion and a non-judgmental attitude. There is no shame in asking for help--everyone could use help during difficult times. My extensive experience, breadth of knowledge, and expertise is available to help my patients find a better way to live and cope with a wide range of life difficulties (such as anxiety, depression, or stress). I strive to help each individual learn how to cope more effectively with life's problems and deal with them reasonably and rationally by adjusting ideas, beliefs, reactions, and expectations--making the coping tools work more effectively. I do not provide the "answers." However, I do actively lead patients in directions where they can choose how to resolve problems in a way that best works for them. I encourage individuals to improve self-awareness and learn how to consciously direct their own lives, based on their values. I strive to respect individuals' unique backgrounds. I have had extensive experience in working with individuals from diverse religious, ethnic, racial, educational, sexual, gender, and socioeconomic backgrounds. I also provide services at a reduced fee at my discretion when someone is needing care but does not have the financial resources.
