I have a B.A. from Harvard, a Ph.D. from Boston University, and over 40 years of experience. I believe that nothing is more important than the quality of the therapeutic relationship. People need to find someone they feel comfortable with, and they need to be able to talk about anything without the fear of being judged. They need to know that they are truly being listened to. Whether working with individuals or couples, I try to provide a warm and supportive environment, and I do talk back, helping direct the flow and sharing my thoughts and my knowledge. I have a special interest in dealing with trauma and dissociation, PTSD and DID. I work with adults and couples. I actively work with clients to find an approach that works for them. Each person is different, so each therapeutic relationship and approach have to be different. To get it right we do it together. I use a variety of approaches, including traditional psychotherapy. I have advanced training in EMDR and in hypnosis, and I find both very helpful in treating anxiety and trauma. I have very limited evening and weekend hours available and can accept most insurances.
