My typical clients are adolescents, or adults wanting help with issues related to personal and social adjustment, interpersonal conflict, mood and anxiety problems, family conflict, trauma/abuse and risky and/or delinquent behaviors. Most of my clients are teens and parents seeking help with both a teenager's behavior and to improve the family unit as a whole. I also have competence in working with adults and older adults on problems related to emotional and interpersonal functioning such as depression, anxiety, trauma recovery and improving the quality of their relationships. I have a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in adolescent behavior and mental health. My psychotherapy training was focused in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), interpersonal psychotherapy and evidence-based approaches to adolescent counseling, parenting skills training and family therapy. I place a strong value on working with a client's culture and values in psychotherapy. Being responsive to a client's values is at the core of my identity as a therapist.
