My work with people varies depending upon the situation and each person's needs. Examples include but aren't limited to: problem solving a specific issue, supporting people through transitions - marital, educational and relational, exploring career choices and needs, reducing and learning ways to cope with anxiety and depression, and understanding how one's past impacts one's present. The guiding principle of my work is to develop a strong therapeutic relationship with clients. It is my belief that the quality of the relationship plays an integral part in successful therapy. My approach is caring, interactive, practical and collaborative. I work to assist and to support people in living the life that they want to live and to explore ways to make that happen. This process can include gaining insight, self-awareness, improving communication skills, problem-solving, understanding the influence of the past on the present, and examining/working through unresolved conflicts and symptoms. I also have a master's degree in anthropology and sociology. I am married and am a mother of two children.
