I believe psychotherapy empowers children, individuals, couples, and families with the opportunity to discover their own truths and become authors of their own lives.I believe it is important for clients to direct the therapeutic process based on their own personal goals, desires, and presenting concerns or problems. The therapist-client relationship is extremely important for the healing and growth process to be most successful. I use an eclectic approach to therapy to meet unique needs in a safe and comfortable atmosphere. In working with children, I use expressive arts to help children cope with a variety of issues. With families, I use a Family Systems oriented approach to reduce anxiety and increase differentiation within the family. I incorporate concepts from Murray Bowen, Salvador Minuchin, and Genograms. My experience as an educator for over ten years as a teacher and school counselor has given me insight into the inner world of children. Currently, I am working on becoming a registered play therapist.
