Signs and Symptoms of Depression While everyone experiences feelings of profound sadness at various times throughout their lives, there are some individuals who experience such sadness for such prolonged periods of time that it begins to hinder their ability to function at an appropriate level each day. Any individual can experience symptoms of clinical depression, regardless of his or her age. For these people, their abilities to perform occupationally and academically suffer, their abilities to adhere to daily responsibilities, regardless of how seemingly menial, become impaired, and their relationships with others start to deteriorate as they begin to isolate themselves. Their eating and sleeping patterns may become disturbed and they may begin experiencing bodily aches and pains. The most devastating result of prolonged depression, however, is the fact that many people start to experience suicidal ideation because they feel that there is no other way to end their inner turmoil. For these reasons and more, it is imperative that treatment be sought and implemented in order to help alleviate such distressing symptoms and prevent detrimental outcomes. Treatment Options at Sonora Behavioral Health At Sonora Behavioral Health, we strive to provide comprehensive levels of care that will address the concerns of anyone who is in need of our services.
