My approach is grounded in the belief that there exists an innate wisdom in the body and mind. I work with you to facilitate your ability to tap into that wisdom. I incorporate a somatically oriented therapy where you the client can begin to notice your body response, emotional response, and the mind's response to the issues you are struggling with. Change becomes possible as you mindfully observe, process, and integrate these response patterns to discover how you organize your experience. This approach reflects the principles of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which is a body-oriented talking therapy that integrates verbal techniques with body-centered interventions in the treatment of trauma, attachment and developmental issues, incorporating theory and technique from psycho-dynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, neuroscience and theories of attachment and dissociation. Using the body as an entry point for treatment; we work together to discover and help challenge the self-limiting beliefs, patterns, and habits that no longer serve you. You begin to understand your patterns and can move towards a more healing, supportive place in your life.
