I am known as a bright, authentic, sensitive clinician who brings over 30 years of experience(the last 15 in private practice)to my work with individuals, couples, and groups. Often people seek therapy expecting the therapist to provide "The Answer." From my perspective it is the client who has the answers within. My task is to use a variety of techniques, skills, and insights to assist them in building their own awareness, developing more productive behaviors, and achieving their goals. I have extensive expertise in work with lesbian, gay, and bisexual individuals and their families. I am a Humanistic, Gestalt-trained clinical psychologist. Developing a collaborative relationship with a client is essential. I tailor therapy according to the client's needs and which therapeutic approach best fits their goals. I utilize a wholistic approach considering the cognitive, affective, physical and spiritual dimensions of the individual. I appreciate the trust involved in choosing to enter a therapeutic relationship. It is important to me, and our practice, that we provide an atmosphere that feels safe and supportive so that people may accomplish the challenging work involved in therapy.
