Drawing on my history as a mental health provider over the last 25 years, I individually craft my approach with you based on your specific difficulty and presenting problem. I clarify early the issue on which you want to focus and then help you imagine the solution. To that end, I employ cognitive behavioral techniques, draw heavily on solutions-focused brief therapy values, teach mindfulness skills and focus on areas of healthy living that may benefit you. My goal is to get you feeling better again as soon as possible and engaged in your life. I have a strong background in supporting people who are getting sober from drugs and alcohol, in providing targeted couples counseling, in assisting caregivers feel strong and appreciated, and in offering real help for those experiencing anxiety, depression, grief. I also feel strongly about including other caregivers when relevant and agreed upon by you as well as connecting individuals and families to community-based programs and supports while transitioning from counseling.
