It took me a long time to realize that asking for help was not a strength for me. After some great therapists, & some not so great, I discovered that healing,though painful at times, was not only achievable but liberating. It's the healing, personal growth, professional experience topped off with education that fuels my passion as a counselor. Trauma, addictions, sexual orientation/identity, "dysfunctional coping" that we can engage in after enduring some hard stuff in life can keep us stuck. When those around you say,"suck it up, get over it" I say, "let me help." Stigma and shame are discouraging and life altering barriers to living well. To help in alleviating this my focus is addressing trauma, addictions, PTSD, relapse, sexual orientation and the scars of judgment that are left in the wake.
