In my first career (28 years long), I served as a congregational rabbi, and a good one, I think. This life experience informs my values and my care and concern for people, but does not stand in the way of my appreciation of human diversity and my ability to connect with people of varied cultures. I am a compassionate therapist, with a gentle and nurturing style of client care. I have had extensive training in both humanistic and cognitive behavioral therapy. The personality, values, and goals of the client determines which modality/modalities that I will emphasize in his or her treatment. My practice is limited to adults and I have special expertise in working with the problems of older adults. I have worked extensively in hospital and agency settings with people over 50; I am one of these people myself. I also enjoy working with younger adults, as well.
