My name is Kim Hartell, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 20 years of experience. I see couples, families and individuals of all ages. I have extensive experience working with mood disorders (depression, anxiety, etc), trauma, abuse issues, suicidal and self harm behaviors, ADHD and oppositional behaviors, school issues, grief and loss, and have a particular interest in Autism Spectrum Disorders. I also have a (hypoallergenic) therapy dog named Patches who works with me, and loves helping with the therapy process! As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I work from the perspective that every person is connected to others, and that these "others" (systems) can either help to build and support positive behaviors and change, or reinforce negative ones . I have a (hypoallergenic) therapy dog that helps people to reduce anxiety, and is particularly useful to those on the autism spectrum. I have a a wide variety of play therapy tools, including sand tray work, dollhouse, puppets, art supplies, and therapeutic games.
