In working with children, adolescents, families, and adults, my therapeutic approach relies on the creation of a nurturing and collaborative environment where we can explore and overcome barriers to living a full and rewarding life. I believe in identifying and utilizing strengths in the process of facing more challenging emotional and relational struggles. Commonly addressed experiences include anxieties, depression, ADHD, negative self-worth and self-talk, perfectionism, difficulties with the expression of emotions, preparation or adjustment to divorce, trauma, parenting styles and skills, building connection with others, bullying, enhancing coping skills, grief, and difficulties within key relationships. Together, my clients and I strive to understand how they perceive themselves within the context of their significant interpersonal relationships and to create a healthy view of self and healthy connections with others. I also conduct psychological evaluations to gain information regarding cognitive, academic, emotional-behavioral, and personality factors. I am the co-director at New Directions Counseling Center. I received my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Georgia. I completed an internship in Child Clinical Psychology at the University of Louisville. My fellowship was completed in Pediatric Psychology at Emory University School of Medicine.
