Benjamin Skolnik
Psychologist, PsyD
Burlington, Vermont 05401

I enjoy working with clients who feel that their minds have become unmanageable. This can look many different ways. Some people experience anxiety, where the mind won't be quiet and allow you to enjoy your life. Others endure an experience of sadness or depression, where the mind is mired in hopelessness, fear, or anger at yourself or others. In either case, psychotherapy, in my case primarily influenced by psychodynamic theory and meditation, can be a valuable tool in helping you to find greater flexibility and freedom in your everyday life. I will work to help you to gain a better understanding of the roots of your emotions and behaviors and to increase your level of mindfulness of the moment-to-moment experience of your life. I work with adolescent and adult clients, and also enjoy providing clinical supervision to therapists pursuing licensure. In short, I will give my all to helping you to relate with more gentleness and acceptance to all that happens in your heart and mind. In doing so, I hope to help you to live the life you want, consistent with your own values.
