On my refrigerator between photos of pets, graduates and vacations is a magnet that says, "what people need is a good listening to." This quote speaks to much of what I value in a counseling process; empathy, connectedness, mindful observation. I have 20 plus years as a therapist. Through my own professional journey I have acquired certain skills and nurtured an intuition for particular types of client experiences: For those finding their way through substance addiction and for those bound by a lifestyle of anxiety, self limitation or shame. I am gratefully influenced by the work of Brene' Brown, Ph.D., LMSW and have completed certification in the Daring Way(tm) curriculum. Currently I am a Certified Daring Way(tm) Facilitator (CDWF). I aspire to aide clients to transcend obstacles to their true Self so that at last they may reunite with that Self.
