I am a licensed mental health counselor in private practice. My mission is to help individuals, including children,and families heal and be emotionally healthy. My professional style is goal oriented, based primarily in cognitive behavioral therapy. I have worked extensively with victims of sexual abuse, and have 17 years of play therapy experience helping individuals address concerns through non-verbal,interactive approaches. I have a special interest in women's issues, grief/loss, families struggling with ADHD issues, and adjustments as life keeps changing.. For ten years, approximately fifty (50) percent of my practice was devoted to children, and women who had been sexually abused during their lifetime. I run Healing Sexual Abuse workshops to help women move beyond victim to survivor; understanding that someone else cannot own you for life. My partner is Misty, a therapy dog in training. She intuitively knows if you need her. If she thinks you are okay, she takes a nap. After all,therapy is hard work! We, are both compassionate and wish for you to have personal growth, and peace in your life.
