I love working with clients that want to get better and are willing to do the work it takes to make the changes necessary to have the life they want. My specialty is working with adults with depression, bipolar disorder and borderline personality. I also do individual and group counseling for adults with addiction problems and assist clients with short term issues such as changing life direction, relationship issues, and adjusting to losses. My third area of practice is life coaching and being an accountability partner for clients working toward specific goals like starting a business or downsizing a home. Many adults with mental illness or addiction problems never live up to their potential because of symptoms or habits they believe they cannot control. They believe that they cannot achieve their dreams because of this. I help clients change their thinking and achieve their dreams. I use a variety of therapies and techniques to help clients reach their goals. Therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, Adlerian therapy. Techniques include assertive communication, active relaxation, meditation, mental imagery for stress reduction and problem solving, visualization, journaling, mindful gratitude and positive affirmations.
