Transition and Aftercare Residential Services Northwest College Support exists to help young adults transitioning from treatment programs, wilderness programs, and leaving their home environment. We are a caring and supportive team of dedicated professionals helping young adults find their path to success in college, vocation, high school completetion and living independence. Based out of beautiful Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Northwest College Support provides a wide range of supportive services to help students meet their potential as they attend college. The range of services provided is widely variable based on each student's needs and goals. Our services include Individual Psychotherapy,Testing and Evaluations, Psychiatric Services Educational Coaching, Life Skills Training, Nutritional Education, Fitness Coaching, and Life Coaching Services. Other services may include Family Therapy and Parent Education. Our approach is based on a growth model that provides uniquely provides the appropriate amount of support. The amount of support provided decreases as each individual grows towards his or her potential. About Northwest College Support College Support provides comprehensive college support solutions tailored to meet the specific and unique needs of individual college students. Northwest College Support grew out of an ever increasing demand for creative and adaptive modes of support for college students. Our team believes in the power of education and the right of each individual to meet his or her full potential educationally or vocationally. Throughout our collective experience we have found that individuals can overcome their challenges if those challenges are met with an open mind and a willingness to utilize supports. Our team believes that the correct environment can create tremendous growth. We know from experience that different people need environments that meet their specific needs. For example: A big college is not for everyone; A big community is not for everyone; and A big classroom is not for everyone. Some individuals need more encouragement, some need to feel a part of a small community, some individuals require ongoing accountability, and some individuals just need to try something different than they have tried previously. At Northwest College Support we create support teams that are as unique and creative as each individual that we support. The Students we Serve Northwest College Support serves a wide array of individuals. Each individual has his or her unique struggles or challenges. Below are some of the examples of individuals who our team has previously helped: Young People with Asperger's, Learning Disabilities and Differences, Negative Peer Influence, Vocational Assistance, Social cognitive deficits, Attention Deficit Disorder / ADHD, Learning differences, Communication deficits, Executive function challenges, Learning disorders including low processing speed and low working memory Non-Verbal Learning Disorder (NLD), Social isolation, Video game and Internet Addiction, Low self-esteem, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Depression, Some co-occuring drug and/or alcohol us, People exiting other residential treatment and needing transitional services and Students who simply have had past college attempts and who are looking for a fresh start with support tailor made to their unique learning and living needs.
