I enjoy working with children/adolescents ages 3-16 dealing with traumatic experiences such as grief and bereavement, verbal, physical, sexual and/or emotional abuse and self harming behaviors. I have extensive experience working with children with behavioral problems (home/school), ADHD,adoption, anger managment, anxiety, attachment issues, bipolar, depression, mood disorders, poor peer relationships and PTSD. I encourage homework activities to enhance the therapuetic progress and reinforce the therapy work with the child by strengthening parenting skills through on-going education and support. I will create a trusting and safe environment where a child can feel comfortable expressing their feelings, improving their self esteem, enhancing their social skills, making better choices and improving family and school interactions. I see therapy as a collabrative process between child, parent and therapist. I am a Registered Nurse with 40+ years of experience in the nursing profession and currently work at Children's Hospital. I utilize my extensive nursing background to provide psycho-education and psychiatric medication education to help parents understand their child's diagnosis and need for medication management.
