I help adults of all ages whose lives are in transition. Coping effectively with stress brought on by transition is difficult. Transitions include changes or losses related to career and relationships, and new circumstances in your life such as grief, sexuality, returning to school, and retirement. I have expertise in the issues of addiction/recovery, and its effect on your relationships, ability to reengage socially, work conflicts, and potential loss of a license or clearance. The impact of transitions on family and significant others is addressed. I help you build the capacity to make changes and sustain those changes in a meaningful way to you. My therapeutic approach is primarily relational and psychodynamic. Together, we identify your strengths, then explore barriers to your life satisfaction including anxiety, fear of rejection, loss, and low self esteem. By examining your strengths, barriers, and behavior patterns, you strengthen your ability to take some personal risks and build a more meaningful life. My experience includes working in Substance Abuse settings for 13+ years, providing group and individual therapy for a diverse clientele. My previous business career strengthens my ability to work with multiple issues at once, facilitating effective solutions for a wide range of people. The office is Metro accessible. Sunday and evening hours offered.
