Reaching out for help requires courage and honesty. From personal experience I understand that achieving inner peace and learning better coping skills greatly improve the quality of life . For 42 years I have helped teens and adults with depression, anxiety, anger, low self-esteem, relationship conflict, substance abuse, grief, stress & gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues. A good counselor is non-judgmental, self-aware, compassionate and above all, skilled at focusing on your strengths and helping you maximize them. My style is relaxed, warm and supportive as is my office atmosphere. I'm tremendously gratified by helping people overcome obstacles and fulfill their potential. It takes facing yourself honestly while treating yourself supportively, the way you'd treat a good friend. My fee is $70 per hour but this can be modified if it is a financial hardship. Our thoughts, feelings and behavior influence each other and change can occur in any order. For example, if I change my behavior, that changes my feelings, which alter my thoughts. The cycle can be interrupted at any point and new coping skills can be substituted for self-defeating behavior.
