I have been providing quality psychotherapy & counseling services in the area for over 25 years. I am skilled, patient , and effective in helping other with current or chronic distressing issues or situations. I especially like to assist those who are effected by interpersonal relationship issues. I counsel clients to learn effective communication and self-care skills to help improve the quality of their life. I work with couples to heal broken trust in relationships impacted by emotional or physical affairs. I assist college-age clients in defining themselves and coping with educational and relationship stressors. I am uniquely dually licensed in the State of Ohio to diagnose and treat mental health problems and addiction issues. I use a variety of treatment modalities such as Rogerian, RET, DBT, Stages of Change, 12-Step Facilitation, Expressive Arts, Bibliotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Psycho-Educational model in groups. The office manager, Karen White, will greet you, orient you to the office layout and answer any questions you may have about billing and scheduling needs. My Athens office is inviting, cozy and comfortable. There is ample, well-lit, level parking on site and the building and office are handicapp accessible.
