I had an epiphany once on an airline flight as the plane shot above gloomy weather: Even when the clouds are grey the sky is blue. Dark clouds in your life can be temporary. Therapy can be a place to weather the storm. I enjoy helping people with general and social anxiety, depression, mood swings, grief and loss, abuse and trauma history, learning disabilities, a pattern of bad relationships or who have trouble forming connections with other people. I also enjoy working with cross-cultural issues such as identity and microaggressions- subtle, often-hidden experiences of discrimination. I help people express and explore difficult emotions, strengthen relationships with others, and develop effective coping and relaxation skills that last. I do that while being warm and supportive. I will challenge you - but gently! - on your journey to psychological and emotional wellbeing. You may benefit from working with someone who understands your cultural background and how this may influence your worldview. I am extensively trained in multicultural psychology and committed to working with persons across race, sexual orientation, gender, religious, and class identities as well.
