I think that the heart of successful counseling and psychotherapy is a trusting, professional relationship. As a clinical social worker for over thirty years, I continue to enjoy working with clients with a wide range of concerns. Depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues, and questions about identity are examples of some of the areas I like to work with. From high school seniors to senior citizens, I have experience and knowledge helping people deal with new phases of life and the decisions and challenges that go with those. I work with individuals and couples, and also offer some family work. One area of expertise is the transition from high school to college. Another area of specialty is loss and grief. Identity issues--including sexual identity, and learning more about yourself and your goals--is an area I have worked with throughout my career. The feedback I often get from clients is that I am an especially good listener and that they often take with them questions to think about between sessions. Although you come to me for my expertise, I see the work as collaborative--we're both in it together and everything is open to discussion.
